Sometimes it can be put down to not only operator error but lack of proper training, the best safety devise is a proper trained operator

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:
¨ To teach the basic skill requirements necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the lift truck.
¨ To encourage the operator to maintain and promote these skills by the continued use of GOOD PRACTICE.
¨ To create a safe working environment within the working area of the truck and its operator.
¨ To meet the legal obligations of the employer and employee, contained within the Health & Safety Act 1974 and its associated regulations.
¨ To Provide an appreciable cost saving through training, by a reduction in damage to the lift truck, its load and the surrounding plant and equipment.
